Default As usual ..... Bad cropping help needed

Hi team,

The two pictures below have been rejected recently for bad cropping. Do you see any chance to save them or at least one of them?

Many thanks in advance,
Daniel

I'm not sure of the cropping issue, on the angled view it seems a bit too wide on the left, but both are rather squarish. Putting that aside, in both the foregrounds are blurred. As those bright red wheels provide so much visual interest, it is quite off-putting. I'd reshoot if possible and get your depth of field correct.

On the first one, I'd take some off the top, to just over the boiler of the steam engine. On the second one, it is very similar to the first one, so I don't know which one you'd want to keep. As far as cropping on that one, they probably don't like it cause it's too centered. That would be my guess.

I think you made the point! I was also more concerned by the blurry foreground than by the cropping itself (This may have been the second cause of rejection). I will try to sharpen more and to remove a bit from the left and top as suggested. It will be quite difficult to reshoot. It tooked me about 7 hours to travel to Wernigerode .....
