Default SOO Line vs. CPRail

I was under the assumption that the Canadian Pacific absorbed the SOO Line, and has become a fallen flag. And therefore, the remaining SOO themed locomotives were just unpainted.

Yet I noticed in 2005 Locomotive Rosters & News, that some of the CP AC4400CW are noted as being "lettered CP but owned by SOO Line."

Is the SOO Line still an operating division, a stand-alone company or what?

Now, with the site operator's call for proper labelling of photos, I just want to be clear.

CP Rail's website refers to the Soo Line as a wholly owned subsidiary.

It was bought out in '95. However, you can still see SOO's running around in various places. Mostly SD60's and SD60M's.
