Default SOO SD60s

The SOO SD60s that had been put into "storage" have been reactivated.

Thats good news to hear.

I hope this follows a trend with other RR's to reactivate stored locomotives.

Last I heard was that only a few had been resurrected. Any idea how many are back now (Dec.7/09)?

Was this over at Humboldt or Pig's Eye yard? Or out on the open rails?

I'm assuming this is CP right? CSX has a bunch of leased horse-hours from BNSF in storage over in Collinwood.

Speaking of Collinwood, Cleveland-area railfans can only keep their fingers crossed that the Soo Line SD60's and SD60M's will start making there way back around here as often as they were last winter Although, if not, the BCOL's and IC's on NS 184 are still a nice treat to live with.

Default Had a beer with CP management in Huron SD

They said the SD-60's will be comming onto DME rails. I hope you guys are not too happy about this cause this means the end of the pride of the DME fleet-- the MILW SD40-2's

The SOOs I spoke of earlier came back on Q381 which put them in Willard, after that I don't know what became of them! I think they had to be yanked off K638 in Selkirk due to cab signals on the P&W, so therefore they didn't come back on K639.
