Default Rejected Photo...Need Some Advice

Greetings! This photo was rejected awhile ago for "Bad Cropping". When I asked for a more in-depth explanation, I was told that "the image could be sharpened a tad". Any pointers/ suggestions on what could be done to improve it? Or is it one for the "personal collection"?

(Btw, don't worry about the size: I'll be sure to submit a larger version. )

Thanks,
Christian S.

For the cropping, I'd maybe try taking a tad off the left. Or, you can appeal. Then sharpen it a bit. Good luck!

The angle is an akward one. Not sure if any cropping can help. I think this one is best for the personal collection.

Try something a little bit like this. The object in the foreground is kind of distracting.

Because it looks like a "going away" shot, that might keep it from getting in.

I'd say go to the left to take another shot. This happened to me before.

From a RP stand point, the fact that it's front coupled is a no-no all unto itself.

And the way VS cropped gets it out of the full frame format that RP wants.

This is about the worst subject you can have, jet black steam with a white building behind it. It would be nice to lighten up the details in the engine, but the building would be blown out.

I think the only time the train is pulled up the mountain and not pushed, is the photo special weekends.

Aye that was a crap crop (and done very quickly), but it was more to give him an idea. Probably just best to keep it for the personal collection.
