Statistically speaking... your most photographed lines?
Thought this might be an interesting thread, especially for those who shoot steam, but should be interesting for just about everyone.
Name and list the counts of your top 3 most photographed lines listed strictly by the name on the lead unit. BNSF leading UP in UP territory would be BNSF. Strasburg would be Strasburg while CN painted engines in Strasburg would be CN. A leaser unit on UP would not be UP, it would be the leaser.
List your best guess then list the actuals.
Guess - CN, Amtrak, WM
Actual - CN 64
New Hope 38
Amtrak 31

Guess - CSX, CN (all steam at Strasburg), Amtrak
Actual - CSX 58
CN 17
Thalys (Belgium) 9 (Amtrak at 9 also if Amtrak California counts as the same RR)
two tied at 8

CP, AMTK, and BNSF would be my guess...
And, I was way, way off...
BNSF - 56 - 24%
UP - 33 - 14%
CP - 24 - 10%

Although I barely have any photos in the DB...
Guess: CSX, NS, UP
Actual:
CSX- 9
NS- 9
UP- 2
A pair tied for highest, and if they count for only one place, third goes to...
BNSF/CN/Freightliner/W&LE/SHIX- All 1

Based on photos currently in the DB (which is a fraction of my actual photographs) I'd guess: BNSF, CN, then CP.
Actual:
BNSF
Cliffs Erie (thanks to a marathon railfanning event)
Tie between DMIR and UP.

Wow, only one (1) CSX shot!
And no Western Maryland Scenic - you've never taken an interest in that operation? Why not?

Its not that I dont have any interest, its just that I dont get up that way to often. This summer was the first time I had been since I was much younger. Just wait until January and that count should jump up.

Given that you have been to the EBT I thought the WMSR would be within directional range.
Are you doing one or both of the January charters?

What makes this interesting is more then which three, as it can be quite surprising as to the disparity between the second and third most photographed.
I was curious in regards to Walt's count which he skipped #2 and #3.
We all know Walt shoots Cass but I was surprised to see what came in second and third (and since it's Walt, it was easy enough to count).
#2 East Broad Top: 29
#3 Union Pacific (who'd have thought?) : 22
Cumbres and WMSR were next up.

What do you mean by "don't have any shots on RP" and why does your RP link in your signature go elsewhere? Some sort of personal commentary/sarcasm?

What really surprised me was how little BNSF I do have. I really hate their paint scheme (just not into orange), but I shoot so much of them and I almost guessed them as number two and Conrail as number three. To find them as my number four (they might even be my number five... not sure where Metrolink falls) indicates to me that I'm not posting them on purpose.
