Default What needs to be done?

I have a question about what needs to be done to this photo. The original photo (http://railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=154449) was rejected for bad cropping. So I removed the the right side of the photo to the turntable control box and resubmitted it (http://railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=154999 ). This time it got rejected for Uncorrected Reupload. I appealed and noted what I had done as the reason for the appeal. The appeal was also rejected. Does this mean that it still is considered bad cropping (the original rejection reason) and if so what needs to be cropped?

Plain and simple, you need to center the locomotive on the frame. Pick a centerpoint, preferably on the point somewhere in the middle of the boiler tube. And crop the photo to keep that point in or as close to the center of the final picture.

If you still want to get the turntable, no problem, just make sure that you crop out as evenly as you can on all sides until you get everything you want. And of course, stay within the predetermined size constraints for RP.net.

BTW, I was on that run of the WMSR, submitted a photo of 734 prior to getting on the turntable.

I can't speak to the cropping on this one. But I will suggest dropping down the size, as hoydie17 stated. It is nearly 1024 squared. I bet you could get away with an 800px wide photo.

Ever since I started putting *******************describe what I changed*********** in the comment section of my re-upload, I haven't had an "uncorrected re-upload."

Instead of cutting so much off the right side, try adding a little more space on the left if possible. It's really tight over there, and too tight can be just as bad as not tight enough.

Ok, somebody help me out... The last several photos I have submitted to rp.net have all been rejected for various reasons This is the latest one, rejected due to poor lighting (cloudy et al) and Bad Angle:
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=157429

What could I have done differently with this photo to get it accepted? It was a bad angle for a nice sunny shot (the sun WAS shining, just the 1/16 of the picture that actually shows sky has clouds in it...) but there's not much I can do with a picture like this one!

Any help is appreciated...

I would guess RP screeners could also tag this one for:

1. the train or subject is too far away [the train is dead center and insignificant when compared to the trees, ties and sign post.];

2. foreground clutter [the locomotive is slightly obscured by tall grass which detracts from the photo. Next time wait a bit until the train is closer.].

This site has great potential.

It was rejected for Cloudy due to the white sky. I try to stay away from that unless the power is really rare or unique. But it could have been rejected for other reasons among poor cropping. clutter, and too far away, like BusyEMT said.
