Except for the fact that his seemingly most favorite dog shot didn't make this list.

There is a couple videos on youtube taken by train crews where trains run over things, one was from Canada where a CN or CP train runs over a Moose and one from the Middle East where they run over a camel

...I couldn't resist a few shots of the howling dog. He was much more interesting than that CSX train on this cloudy day.

I applaud the RP screeners for having the gonadal valor to accept such a shot. The world would be a better place without more three quarter, color saturated, sunny day shots of yet another train at some grade crossing. I'm just trying to do my part.

It seems the Europeans are again at the forefront of this type of photography.

Sure, there have been a plenty of accepted images with dogs IN the picture but until the Brits, the likes of Alan Crotty, Richard Stevens, Bob Avery and perhaps Michael Allen return and push the boundaries, it seems getting a photo of a dog ON a train will be a hard sell. A look at the set of images above proves my point - only 1 dog on a train and it's taken by a "Brit". And, it's foreign. I tried - perhaps, RP is not ready yet.

After all, no one said getting a photo accepted on RP with a dog IN the pic was hard!

Foxes in daylight are relatively unusual. I have seen plenty wandering round freight yards in the UK, but always at dawn or dusk. Walked out the office one night years ago and was confronted by a fox standing in the middle of a siding in front of a loco, plastic bag in mouth, just like it had been shopping! My instinct was to go back and grab the camera but, as soon as I moved, the spell was broken and it ran off.
