Default A red tailed hawk checks out our backyard deer feeder

I took a break from the computer and walked into the kitchen. To my surprise, I noticed a red tailed hawk perched on our backyard deer feeder. Without scaring the hawk away, I walked as slowly as possible to my camera. I was able to take quite a few photos. The photo that I am attaching in this topic was taken with a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I used a telephoto Canon 75-300mm F/4-5.6. While I was able to zoom quite a bit, I decided to use my photo editor and zoom in more on the photo to get as close as I could to the hawk. I hope that you enjoy the super close view!

Have a great day everyone. GO CUBS!

WOW! I'd heard there were hawks in the Chicago area, but hadn't seen evidence of it before (though a falcone did swoop in front of my car on the way to school one day). Great catch!

Wrong sport. Shouldnt a reference to the NHL team be more appropriate?

Haha. I never really thought of that. Speaking of the CUBS, you should have seen Juan Pierre's possible game saving catch in deep center! We're off to extra innings.

Edit: Phil Nevin ends it with a line drive to left! CUBS win 5-4!

I guess if they do that, then the fans can just forget how many World Series appearances the cubs have since 1945 and how many World Series titles since 1908.

Against the first place Cardinals, that's quite an accomplishment.

The Cards are on a downslope. The Reds took the season series from them. I guess when your 20 under .500, you need a reason to cheer.

Another accomplishment might be not blaming the lack of World Series appearances on a goat or some dude with a walkman. Maybe one day the cubs will grow up into a real team.

Although, I do miss Harry Caray and his butchering of players names.

Valid point, however, all teams have their bad slides.

We all know that the most exciting series of events ever at Wrigley Field were the Jimmy Buffett Labor Day Weekend shows last year.

Being a Cubs fan you would know about a team not going anywhere. Honestly, I think the Reds will make the playoffs, but they have little experience in the post season, and are too inconsistant to make a serious run at the Series. ( I see a Mets Red Sox Series.....think about that for a minute)

So if the Cubs make it to .500 would that mean they are only half the losers they are now?
