I have thought about starting a myspace Railpictures.net contributors group if there is any interest. If anyone's interested let me know. I'm jbcagle on myspace if you want to add.

Jason:

We have a similar group setup for JetPhotos.net....not a bad idea!

Although I'd still join, I think a railpictures myspace group would be a little redundant because there are already a few railfan groups.

I would think it would be reduntant considering that there is already an RP.net forum.

Just kind of feeling the pulse to see if people would be interested. I hadn't realy looked into what all is out there. I was just thinking that it might be a good way to get to know each other a little more than what's on here since there are profiles and all.

Ok, I never thought 32 would be "out of touch" with the net, but what is the hype about Myspace in regards to a RP.net group? As others have written, it seems redundant.

Would member go there to discuss goings-on here? I have a blog, forums and "personal collection." Located at the address below. Is this what MySpace offers? Just wonder.

I don't even think it offers that much (for photos, I mean). It might be used as a way to draw more people to RP.net. I know movie and music labels use Myspace to promote their stuff, so I'm guessing something like that. I view it much like Yahoo! 360, it's there, but I haven't figured out how to use it for practical purposes...

I havn't done anything with it yet since I havn't had a lot of feedback on it. I kind of thought the thread had died, but I see it's revived. I was just thinking it would be an easier way to link everybody together that wanted to join and have a little bit more about each of us than the rp profile allows. I think when I get on myspace tonight I'm going to set it up. I'll put all the particulars about it up when I'm done.

I just put it up and the url is http://groups.myspace.com/Railpictures

It might take a couple days to get it all set up but the basics are there so you can join if you wish.

I also had the thought that it would be a great place to post those "personal collection" shots that are interesting, as well as have a way to get to know each other better.
