Default Image re-sizing

I am trying to edit my images so that they will fit inside RP's guideline's (Both in pixels and in megabits.) I was wondering if there is a way to reduce an image's pixels while the retaining the most megabits (2 MB's is the limit if i remember correctly.) Furthermore, what program would you recommend to accomplish this task?

You need photo processing software. You should not expect to take an image straight out of your camera, only resize it, and have it accepted. In the majority of cases, perhaps in all cases, you will have to do something with it, sharpen it, adjust exposure, adjust crop, etc. So you might as well get started learning something that does all those things. I don't even know if there is software that just resizes. MS Paint, maybe? Avoid that, just learn one good piece of software.

I haven't used it but people like Google's Picasa for free software. I use Photoshop Elements, the cheaper version of Photoshop with fewer features (but more than enough for RP-type work). Many other alternatives.

Like JRMDC, I too use PhotoShop Elements. It is a great tool and reasonably priced. Give it a try.

I have Photoshop CS6 and I do edit my images, it's just that I haven't been able to find good resizing software. Would photoshop allow me to do this and if so, how?

How you can be a PS CS6 user and have no idea of how to resize in it, that is a head scratcher for sure. You have the tool, take a few minutes to read the help or the manual or the web to find out how to use it properly. Resizing is routine, no such thing as separate resizing software.

You have quite possibly the best, most intense and most flexible photo editing programs ever made. Of COURSE it'll perform one of the most basic photo editing functions known to mankind. Time to RTFM.

Sheesh...and to think I was just being facetious with my first post.

Wes,

Google/Youtube is your friend...just search for "How to ________ in CS6?" and fill in the blank for whatever you're curious about.

Good luck and have fun with the program. Once you start learning some of the features, you'll be amazed with what it can do.
