Default Fine Art America

Does anybody use Fine Art America to sell prints? They offer a shopping cart feature to embed in my personal website. I like the idea but was curious if anyone has used them.

Has anyone ordered a print from them? How was the print quality? They boast about "museum quality" but I've been to some pretty pitiful museums HAHA.

Any info would be greatly appreicated

Anthony;

Their quality is really very good! I've got several metal prints as well as just regular framed and matted stuff and it's always cool as hell. Comes literally ready to hang. I've also sold some stuff. So far, most of it has been my non-railroad stuff. Getting noticed there is harder than, say, Flickr.

I'd recommend going ahead and paying the 30 or 35 dollar fee for unlimited uploads. One sale will take care of that. Also, hit the forums over there and search for some advice. It's a slightly different animal and some of the posters (Make Savad, for example) has some good words of advice to give.

Here are some links --

http://fineartamerica.com/discussions.html (The forums. Be sure to look for the Need Help - Start Here tab on the discussions page.)

So, yeah, I'd suggest doing it.

Just curious if you ever set up a web site at FAA or anywhere else.

I ended up going with FAA. What sold me was the fact that the shop is in NC (just a short 1hr drive from my house) and the shopping cart widget that allows me to sell from my own website. I have not utilized the personal website you get with a membership. I think it would just be redundant. So I sell from FAA's site and my own that I had already created.

While it is not perfect, I am pleased with the whole setup so far. I have already sold a print too!
