I got this shot today while out railfanning. Eastbound grain meets a westbound manifest. It got rejected for being backlit. What do you think? The lighting on 3782 (the intended subject) looks pretty good to me, though some of those shadows may be a bit distracting? And the crossing gate jutting in from the right doesn't help either... or the wires. But backlit is the main rejection here. I only submitted it in the first place because it's the best "meet" shot I've gotten - in fact, the only meet shot I've gotten. Ummm...a trainload of problems here.
Too dark and undersharpened for starters (corrected in mere seconds with
free IrfanView.
The shadow of that tank or whatever it is falls just in the wrong place.
As for the nose of the locomotive, half-dark noses may or may not get rejected.
Sorry, no candy for this one.
BTW, did you submit any from your previous post?
