Default Yellowstone area railfanning?

I am headed to Yellowstone NP and Grand Teton NP the 2nd and 3rd weeks of June and wanted to maybe include some railfanning while in the area. I have never been before, and a cursory lay of the land indicates there is the former NP mainline which is now MRL skirts the north side of the park. I am flying into Bozeman, MT, and the mainline goes right in front of the airport.

Couple questions:
1. What is traffic like on the MRL in this area, what are the highlights?

2. What other rail lines are in the area? I suspect UP is to the south, BN(SF) further north.

How accessible are these lines? What is traffic like, etc, all the standard scouting questions.

Thanks,

I was looking on google earth and right near the Bozeman airport is an obviously abandoned railroad grade, I followed it for a couple hundred miles and I have to guess maybe it was Milwaukee Road

What do you want to know about it or mt railroading-- I know it all. As for the MILW go to Butte cause thet packed up one day in march 1980 and left everything behind. Get the MILW book -Western Extension.
