I agree about the more than adequate.

But there is a difference between an email antivirus scanner, which is on all the time and so you should have only one of them (same with a firewall). But if you are scanning intermittently for viruses, you can do more than one as long as they are not scanning at the same time. Same with spybot/antispy/malware whatever it is called, and those in particular I see lots of recommendations to run more than one.
