Would have zoomed in/walked closer. Start off by exposing for the sun and/or sunlight. I personally over expose these sort of shots, I can always tone down in post processing. And don't forget you can bring out the shadows a little bit also. But if you're trying for a silouhette you really need the train to be definitive. You're telling me where the train is and I still can't tell where it is. Get closer/zoom and maybe try a lower angle against the sun.
