We used to go through Chadbourne on the way down...

We used to go through Chadbourne on the way down & back, remember seeing all the locos over on the dead line. The only part of the line we see now is along 701 starting at Loris, depends on traffic...

Mike, thanks for the post & map. We've been down in that area several times, never realized the station is that close. But then again, we're in MB 2 weeks out of the year.

Yes, there's been an increase of ethanol & oil trains in the Baltimore, MD area, and foreign power. I've seen UP, BNSF, CN & CP, & N/S on occasion. I've seen N/S's 'Nickel Plate Road' heritage unit...

Usually cut the air supply to shut it down, can cut off the fuel supply to if needed. Once they run on their own oil, it's hard to shut them down.

I saw 8803 last week leading 2 other SD-40s on a local sitting on the South Baltimore industrial track. Looks funny just having a yellow nose.

At one time they ran a train up to the first mile marker and back. I'm not sure if they're still doing that or not.
