I do like where this edit went, but I don't think the original has the image quality to make this successful.

I agree, I'd like to see what you have to work with in the original, as it's already getting on the noisy side in the link you posted.

As a side note, when you put the road number of the loco,...

I don't see the issue with "clutter" but I also don't see this getting on as is given the lighting/edit.

I would consider trying a wider aspect ratio to lose a bit of the top and/or bottom, more 16x10 or 16x9. I could maybe see loosing the farthest windmill on the right, but think it works keeping that...

Yeah some drone cameras are better than others with respect to the wide angle. I've found reasonable luck making sure to compose with keeping the subject/train away from any of the frame edges and...

I love a friendly wave from the crew, and have no problem with it all from a photography standpoint. Opening the door on a widecab is a bit annoying if done on purpose.

The only "waves" I think...

Given the age and subject, I would have hoped it would be accepted. The backlighting is not especially bad either where the whole nose is just dark. Oh well...thanks for sharing here.

I get hit with undersharp rejections all the time. I always sharpen to what looks good to me and sharpen on export but still run into issues. Usually a bit more sharpness and resubmit is good to go,...

I assume they want it less "yellow" though it looks fine to me for a shot around that time of day. However, it does look like it's leaning a little left looking at the building on the left and bridge...

I agree, too tall. Good candidate for 16x10 or 16x9. It might be a hair tight on the left, but I don't think it's so tight that it's an issue. However, it's still just a 3/4 wedge shot at a generic...

Personally, I don't think that the amount of prior photos at a location should have any bearing on rejection or even deciding what to submit. Yes I wouldn't post them back to back but over time I...

7 Day Viewing: Composition

Captured this shot of a whitetail buck darting in front of a CSX intermodal train, unfortunately, nature didn't cooperate and time things right for a perfect composition. While it doesn't follow the...

As for cutting the train off with the edge of the frame, I have always seen it as a general composition rule. Most times, not cutting it off abruptly creates a...

I like what you're going for, but agree with the same reasons Doug posted above. If it were me, I would also crop out some more of the bottom of the frame. That's just me though.

I've had about 50/50 luck with appeals, Probably have appealed around 15 images, though I haven't really kept track. I have only gotten a comment once on a rejection.

Personally I care less about what it looks like coming out of the camera, I think it's more about what it looked like in person and how well the final image (edited or not) reflects that.
