If and when I get things back . . . I just leave them in my quite nice and growing, personal collection. It is just not worth it to resubmit, unless one is desperate to get something up on the site....

When one gets the 'Zebra' look from shadows it is tough to keep ones eye on the subject and not the dark and light patterns. I can see why you like the shots, but also why they were not accepted.

Good photographs and popular photographs do not always equal the same thing. The shots that seem to do very well are taken from the air, take a long . . . . . time waiting and or are of wrecks....

I have used a Canon G5 with good results, also the G6 might be down in price to where it would fit your restraints. I am of the camp with a SLR, but would rather go shooting with a G5/G6 than stay...
