Composition?

OK. I seldom feel the need to ask for help in getting a shot accepted, but I am really scratching my head over this one. I have cropped it a couple of different ways, but they don't seem to like any...

First off, the first one looks "fairly" accurate. The second one, not so much. If you have software that will allow you to edit photos in RAW format, I would suggest that you shot in RAW. It allows...

I'm thinking that the first one could "probably" be saved by a little selective shadows/highlights tweek, particularly on the locomotive noses.

I think the second one is not fixable. If the train...

Exactly Mitch! That has been one of my pet-peeves with RP for quite a while. And likewise, if it's "less than good" (shall we say), it STILL shouldn't matter whose name is under the photo. (Another...

I wish it were different, but this is pretty much all the explanation that is needed. But having said that, let me also say that Chase is a great photographer. From a purely photographic standpoint,...

Ok guys. Thanks. I see what you mean. I'm sure I have a frame previous to this one where the train isn't cut off. I will go back and look. Thanks again.

Any hope for this one?

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=1343257&key=9735843

This was hit with Comp/Balance. Is the Comp fixable, or is it a case of "it's an uninteresting shot that we don't want, so we...

Same thing happened to me. Here's what you can try. It worked for me.

Give things a week or two to settle down (that way all of your rejected photos will fall out of the system). Then use the...
