GALLERY: Yourself in action for RP.net.

Are there photos/videos of you out there in action trying to snag that perfect shot to get on RP that someone else (or yourself if you're good) may have shot?

My brother thought he would include me in his video of Bessemer 906 South about a week ago. I'm not a big fan of the text balloons in any video, and am glad that this is NOT a feature at R-V.

Here is his video:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nEkHReEPho8&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nEkHReEPho8&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Here is my photo from there:

This is an old share (familiar to many), but my dad took this of me and the Nickel Plate 759 coming through Glen Rock, NJ... May 1970, when I was... Negative 15, that's right, it was 15 years before I was born... okay, I was eight, really, and I'm attempting to take my first ever railfanning photograph.

That's my brother behind me, holding his ears.

My avatar is of my brother and me on the same engine, two years later, when she had returned to Steamtown in Vermont.

You can see my wife and me a couple of times in C. Vision Productions of "BNSF's Staples West" DVD in Hawley, MN:

I got this shot (and Chris from C. Vision) before he turned the camera around and got me on the bridge:

September is coming; time to get the leather jacket out of the hall closet and go look for trains.

Joe the Photog 08-21-2009 05:16 PM

I don't believe I've ever shot with another RP photog. I rarely ever shoot with anyone, truth be known. There are a few Columbia-area photogs, but somehow we rarely meet trackside.

Freericks 08-21-2009 05:55 PM

Um... note to John Ryan... "Dude, get out my shot!"

:-)

(Yes, I'm kidding...)

I am in a couple of my friends videos but nothing note worthy with those. There a few photos of the Tweetsie Railroad that I have seen myself in but once again, nothing really "note worthy".

Here is a photo my girlfriend took, hard to see but I was photographing the brakeman riding on the end of a covered hopper as they were shoving a car or two, after the train passed it got into better light and the shot below came from it.

Self portrait while doing a full trip cab ride on the GSMR. Dont know if that counts or not but I have 5 photos in the database from that trip.

I'm in two that I can think of...

[photoid=292255]

In the crowed of foam on the left.

[photoid=237613]

Way in the background on the right, far side of the signal bridge (don't ask why I chose to shoot there, it was a dumb idea.)

I've got photos of several RP contributors, but they including gestures, bodily functions, etc that just wouldn't be nice of me to post.

You know who you are though :)

This is what happens when you spend too long hanging around waiting for trains

Here is a shot my brother took while I moved in for a close-up using our inflatable boat. I dropped him off on an old duck blind up the river a bit, and he took this shot while I moved back downstream closer to the bridge:

Here is the angle I captured from the boat:

From one of my favorite locations. I got one of Ross too, in a similarly, how shall we say, challenging location.

Used with Ross's permission.

That's not a nice thing to say about Walter Scriptunas, Loyd.:twisted:

Luckily, he's busy with college now, so maybe he won't see this post. ;)

I'm the guy in the red "7" shirt here, which is kind of neat as it's literally the first time I had ever seen mainline steam in action.

Didn't get the shot from that video on RP, but I got a few that day, I think this is the closest to the location in question:

Apparantly jen has a plethora of shots of me in shots. She says I get in her shots, somehow, someway, every single time. hahahahha, I can't help it I need to find a better angle so I don't get the same as hers. I've taught her how to clone, she can use it now. I'll try to find some more that she has somewhere on her HD or somewhere.

Gosh, Ben, really, don't go to so much trouble, somehow we will get by without seeing more Ben-by-the-tracks shots, don't put yourself out, it would be selfish of us to insist on more, you are too kind!

asis80 08-26-2009 03:06 AM

hahaha, oh J. Thanks for that, I'll resist putting myselfs alls overs teh's inets.

get the photo id, which is above the thumbnail when you're viewing the main gallery. Insert it between the equal sign and bracket, no spaces between either.
