Keating Summit in PA

I am gonna make a route for a motorcycle ride and thought following the WNYP line would make for a good ride. Where exactly is the summit (GPS) where this sign is located?

Is there a certain schedule for trains or is it hit or miss? I would start at Driftwood and head north. Any info would be appreciated.

If I remember, wasn't there an article in Trains about the WNYP? Do you what issue that was?

Its right alongside road 155, go north past the wooden bridge (either that or a old metal one, cant remember) over the tracks and it will be there. The bridge is by far the best spot to watch a northbound train pull the grade. Trains dont run daily but when they do they will normally start from Olean in the morning, pick up empty gravel cars in Turtlepoint, go to Driftwood, drop off/pickup and return north in the early evening. Thats when things go according to plan....

Use a Delorme

I use Delorme Map books not GPS so I have no idea on coordinates, but just look for Keating Summit on the Delorme, its the gold standard for railfanning.

I found out it is the June 2012 issue. I have that issue somewhere, but if someone more organized than me could send me a PDF of the article that would be awesome-sauce!!

WNYP has it on their website

Watch out for a crazy local woman (maybe she's elsewhere by now).

I was shooting a NB from the public road, when she drives up and starts ranting nonsense about trespassing. Maybe she thought I was violating the air rights of her farm field.
