New addition to the Nash County Railroad
G&O 6528 (ex CSX GP40 same number, which is former B&O 3752) is now working on the Nash County Railroad in east central North Carolina with GP38s 2068 and 9657. Oddly enough, that makes three former Chessie units on this line now. 2068 is ex C&O 3868 and 9657 was B&O 3806. 9657 was its number as an MOW "Pumpkin." It was 2006 before renumbering.

I think that for a shortline board it is particularly important to give an indication of location, certainly at least a state. But I poked around ... the web tells me this is North Carolina, northeast, based in the Rocky Mount area.

Right you are...thank you for the addition.

Who would have thought this obscure little RR would get one of the first threads in this forum? I grew up about 2 miles from this line and went to high school directly by the tracks. 645-powered Geeps are nice, but the 567's in the GP10's the line used to run sounded spectacular especially on the incredibly long (up to 80 car) grain trains they pulled out to Nashville, NC. Thanks for sharing.
