RailRoad boots
i was told by the BNSF that i need to get a good pair of steel toe boots for the job. is there any RR employees on here that can suggest any boot names that will be good for this job? what brands will stand up to this type of work?

Caterpillar, Wolverines, Timberlands. Timberlands, while pricey, have a lifetime replacement guarauntee.

price really isnt a factor since BNSF pays $100 towards the boots. i can get a really good pair for a decent price. i looked at the timberland webpage and they look good. that lifetime warrenty is nice too.

I like CAT, they hold up really well and are very comfortable - at least for my feet. That is really important, I know when I'm out doing trackwork the last thing I want is uncomfortable footwear. I've used them a lot and they can take a beating...

I have a pair of redwing steeltoe boots that I've used for a few summers in a factory job. They are very comfortable. I would be standing and walking around in them all night and my feet still felt good in the morning. I would buy them again. http://www.redwingshoes.com/

Worn Redwings on and off for 30 years. They're well made, comfortable and stand up to punishment.
