Here we go again

If you remember last week, I tried a shot with a ball field/corn and a train going past. Not too often that scene occurs that I can get to. yesterday happened to be one of those days.

Got hit with bad comp and contrast. Any ideas?

More sky, less foreground. Get closer to the pitching rubber.

I agree with Joe's comments in regards to composition. In my own opinion, the empty pitching rubber is uninteresting. Could you reshoot it either with an actual game or at least a "staged" little league pitcher? The contrast is a little flat as well.

I didn't even notice it in the foreground until I read the comments. A pitcher would help, simply getting closer would be better. You need foreground and background, this photo doesn't really have that.

* The new crop on your accepted photo looks much better.

If a game had been going on, it could have been a winner. Otherwise....I'm not a fan. Sorry.

Same with his last baseball field shot rejection with the train way in the background. Plain and simple, you need a game. I wouldn't even have wasted my time shooting this without someone on the green. And I just happened to luck out and get a guy in putting form:

If you have a ball field, golf course, whatever...there needs to be some human interest to make the shot work, IMO.

I played with the crop and contrast and it got accepted. I could have used my son as he was with me but had no glove with us... for once. I like it how it is, if you read the comments *i know who likes to read? :0)* you will understand the frame better.

Thanks for the input!

Bring a glove and a baseball hat along with your son the next time. ;)

It so happens the one time we didn't. I had the wifes van.
