"First" Shot

Very simple, how old were you when you took your oldest photo on RP.net?
I was 10 when I took this one

FAdams 07-20-2009 07:58 PM

1985 I was 11 years old.

Only in the past couple years have I started taking photos of any quality, but for my 200th photo in the database, I'm hoping to put on a shot that I took when I was 12.

15 for me, back when one could easily get access to places!

Wow, you're only 16?? You must have had a good driver this past weekend for your 4449 shots. (looks like we were both on the 18th St bridge, too) :)

Not as young for me...39. http://bestsmileys.com/clueless/4.gif

Certainly not my best, but it is my oldest.

These two were taken on the same vacation:

I've got numerous photos from when I was younger, but I didn't start taking photography seriously enough to get worthwhile shots until I was in college.

Good Driver = Me, believe it or not! I had a friend with but I ended up doing the driving, all 400 miles. It seems like I've gotten out less now that I have a license because everyone expects ME to drive to make up for all their driving me around, haha.
You were on 18th street? You and everybody else. I was in a green hoodie and I had glasses, if you even remember from all those people...

Freericks 07-21-2009 03:28 AM

In the database, 15

[photoid=195800]

First railfan shot, I was 8, but it, um... isn't really show-able.

Hmm.... Good subject material as well Chris!

EMTRailfan 07-21-2009 12:25 PM

I feel Jim T. and I should get a senior citizen discount or something.

31 for me:
[photoid=179903]

TheRoadForeman 07-21-2009 12:28 PM

I was 17 for this picture.

[photoid=271370]

However, I have tens of thousands of slides to go through yet starting from 1994.... We'll see, I may need to update this sometime later....

John Fladung 07-21-2009 04:34 PM

I was 21 at the time when I started taking pictures of any quality or personal merit.

[photoid=131777]

Started out with a Sony 2.0MP point & shoot camera, upgraded to a Canon S3 via a birthday gift and shoot with a Canon Rebel XSi today.

I've also met some really good people and have made some really good friendships through this enjoyable hobby.

Christopher Muller 07-21-2009 05:13 PM

Nothing too impressive from me... I've never tried to upload any of my old stuff because they quality isn't there. I only have a handful of stuff left as most of it was damaged in a flood back in the 90's.

WembYard 07-21-2009 06:59 PM

31 when I took this

[photoid=171593]

But have loads of stuff going back to 1984 when I started taking photography seriously - I would hope that at least some of it (a very small proportion) would get on RP when I get time to scan it.

My "other half" was 18 when he took this

[photoid=239238]

Might be able to find something very slightly earlier in our collection, but doubt it.

Freericks 07-21-2009 07:28 PM

Some of you guys are WAY TOO YOUNG.

(Jealousy when will you let go ?)

Yeah but we don't get to shoot this...
[photoid=266796]
It's a two-way street. :) :lol:

Funny thing, Andrew... I remember that day well... and thinking about what it would have been like to see Baby-Face Baldwins and FM Trainmasters, let alone the Reading Crusaders at that same location, but I was born too late.

I remember long ago, my Father took our family to a farm in upstate New York where he was anxious to show us a streamlined NYC Hudson in a barn. What a site that was! This was in the mid-seventies. I have a few pics but they are all backlit so I never bothered posting on RP.

Aside from those -

Earliest in the database - 1981
That'd make me 15 at the time:
[photoid=228545]

Earliest that I know of - 1978
That'd have made me 12.
Not sure why it's fuzzy - could be the scan.
