I thought everybody liked redheads...

Finding myself at the Fort William train station on a gloomy morning, I tried my hand at some "human interest in a railroad environment" photos. This one was quite quickly rejected and has no hope of making it in on appeal (I already tried that argument in the submission comments), but I was curious what others thought of it.

It's a great shot, but I don't see the RR element without reading the caption.

Agree. Need a little more "railroad" in the photo. Even a distant headlight might work. But just not enough there at this point. The crossovers on the left don't draw that much attention so it might as well be a bus platform instead of a trains station.

Have to disagree with Free re "great shot." Backs of people are inherently uninteresting; for my tastes the interaction is much too obscured - can't see the child's face at all, the woman's face is too dark to figure out her expression. I would call this shot "study in winter jacket hoods." Not a fan.

I couldn't agree more - I'm trying to but I can't. That just how much I agree with Janusz on this one. Sorry Dave - I too see nothing but hoodys and hair, with the exception of a sippy cup.

You can do better than this crap ;)

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. Sometimes the photographer can't see his own photo objectively because he was there and knows what the whole scene was.

That's the white blob beyond the mother's forehead; the red blob is a signal. Would have worked better if both headlights were visible.

Agreed, if headlights are good enough for the sister site they are good enough for here. http://mail.jetvideos.net/viewphoto....25739&nseq=130 ;)

 Good one, Brent. I'm still waiting for the first topless-female-in-a-train-pic to show up on RP.

Carpe diem, Jim! If you want something done right, you better do it yourself!

MassArt Images 11-14-2012 12:17 AM

It needs a Thomas the Tank Engine sippy cup.

Holloran Grade 11-14-2012 06:24 AM

I would like it better if they were facing you - great detail.

Maybe I should submit this one - it was taken at a RR station.
